How to get there

The distance to the closest airport, Bagdogra, is roughly 125 kilometres.

New Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, is the closest railway station, located 117 miles away.

From Bagdogra and Siliguri, a number of state buses travel to Gangtok. Alternatively, you can book cabs or private buses from either location.

The Sikkim Tourism Department also offers daily helicopter service from Bagdogra to Gangtok, which can be a little pricey but is still an interesting way to begin your vacation.
