The picturesque village of Lachung is well connected by road to the nation's capital, Gangtok, which is located at a distance of about 110 km; the drive through winding mountain roads, blessed with a magical scenery of cascading waterfalls and breath-taking vistas of the valley, is completely soul-renewing and is sure to leave a mark in your hearts and memories forever. Be aware that the area is somewhat restricted due to its proximity to the Indo-Chinese border and that a travel permit is necessary. This permit must be obtained from the District Commissioner's office in Gangtok at least two days before the visit.
