In the foothills of Sikkim, there are two distinct towns: Ravangla and Namchi. These two towns are both found in the state's southern region. Namchi is located at an elevation of 5500 feet, while Ravangla lies at an elevation of 8000 feet. The distances between Ravangla and Namchi and NJP are 120 KMS and 90 KMS, respectively. Ravangla is 65 kilometres away from Gangtok, while Namchi is 82 kilometres away.

 

 

Rawangla or Ravongla are other names for Ravangla. It is an exquisite state in Sikkim bounded by mother nature and with the surreal view of the third highest mountain of the world Mt. Kanchendzonga. By Air:

 

You may decide to fly directly to Pakyong (PYG). The only airport in Sikkim is Pakyong. Pakyong Airport is 64 kilometres from Namchi and 74 kilometres from Ravangla. Nevertheless, flights to this airport are not frequent because it is surrounded by mountains and clouds.

 

By Train:

 

New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the closest one. The major cities of the country, including Kolkata, have excellent train connections to NJP. To get to Ravangla or Namchi from NJP, you must take a shared cab, taxi, or private vehicle.

 

By Road:

 

The roads between Ravangla and Namchi are excellent for driving. You can choose to drive to both locations if you'd like. Drivers must be tough, though, as driving conditions on plains and hills are very different.

 

Best Time To Visit:

 

Visiting Ravangla and Namchi between the months of March and June is among the ideal times to do it. At Ravangla, the weather is calm throughout this period, with temperatures ranging from 15 to 25 degrees centigrade. The temperature of Namchi varies from 4 to 12 degrees centigrade.
