Itinerary (Day Wise)
Welcome to Bhutan. Upon arrival in Jaigaon, you will be traditionally greeted by the tour executives for travel to Bhutan. Today you will do the immigration formalities and see Phuentsholing town. Phuentsholing is a border town in southern Bhutan, and isthe administrative seat of Chukha District. Itlies opposite the Indian town of Jaigaon and cross border trade has resulted in a thriving local economy. Phuentsholing had a population of 28,000 as of 2017 and has been growing since then. Evening stroll market and overnight stay.

After breakfast, our representative will assist you with your Bhutan immigration permit formalities. Once the permits are issued, begin your picturesque drive towards Thimphu, the charming capital of Bhutan. En route, visit the peaceful Kharbandi Monastery, offering panoramic views of Phuentsholing and the surrounding plains. Continue through the scenic mountain roads with stops at the Chukha Dam View Point, the beautiful Gedu View Point, and the picturesque Wankha Waterfall. As you ascend into the Himalayas, enjoy breathtaking valleys, lush forests, and traditional Bhutanese villages along the way. Upon arrival in Thimphu, check in to your hotel. In the evening, you may explore the lively markets before returning for an overnight stay in Thimphu.

After breakfast,complete immigration we will begin our sightseeing tour of Thimphu, visiting some of its most famous attractions. Our first stop will be the National Memorial Chorten, followed by the Takin Preserve Centre, where we can see Bhutan’s national animal. We will then explore the National Library and the National Textile Museum to learn more about Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage. Next, we will visit the magnificent Buddha Point, offering panoramic views of the city, and the Painting School, where traditional Bhutanese art is taught. Later, we will visit the impressive Tashichho Dzong and the interactive cultural museum, Simply Bhutan. In the evening, we will enjoy a leisurely stroll through the local market before returning for an overnight stay.

After breakfast at the hotel, the day is kept completely at leisure for you to relax and enjoy at your own pace. You may choose to unwind at the hotel, soak in the peaceful surroundings, or explore nearby areas independently. This free day is perfect for a slow stroll through local markets, café hopping, short nature walks, or simply spending quality time with your loved ones. For those who wish, optional sightseeing or activities can be arranged at an additional cost. Return to the hotel in the evening and enjoy a relaxed overnight stay.
After breakfast, depart from Thimphu and drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,088 m), offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges on clear days. Visit the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens, built in honor of Bhutan’s peace and stability, and enjoy time to soak in the serene mountain atmosphere. Continue the drive through picturesque valleys and forests to Punakha. Upon arrival, visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong (Palace of Great Happiness), located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, followed by a visit to the iconic Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest in Bhutan. Later, visit Chimi Lhakhang, the revered Temple of Fertility, set amidst scenic rice fields and traditional villages. Overnight stay at the hotel in Punakha.

After breakfast, drive to Paro with en route visits to Lamperi Botanical Park and Tamchog Iron Bridge. Check in and relax. Overnight stay at Paro.

After breakfast embarks on an interesting excursion to Taktshang Monastery (approx 6 hours round trip walk. It is one of the most famous of Bhutan’s monasteries, perched on the side of a cliff 900m above the Paro valley floor. Legends say that Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery and hence it is called ‘Tiger’s Nest’. This site has been recognized as a most sacred place and visited by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646 and now visited by all Bhutanese at least once in their lifetime. Pony available at own cost. After breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Haa Valley via the scenic Chele La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan offering spectacular views of the Himalayan ranges and surrounding valleys. During the excursion, visit Lhakhang Karpo and Lhakhang Nagpo, two sacred temples known for their spiritual and historical significance. You will also visit the Mini Tiger’s Nest, a peaceful viewpoint offering beautiful landscapes similar to the famous Tiger’s Nest setting. After completing the sightseeing in Haa Valley, drive back to Paro in the evening. Overnight stay in Paro.

In the morning, after breakfast, embark on a final round of sightseeing before beginning your dramatic journey toward Phuentsholing. Along the way, explore Paro’s most iconic landmarks, including the majestic Paro Dzong standing proudly above the river, the sacred Kyichu Lhakhang radiating ancient spiritual energy, the historic ruins of Drukgyel Dzong set against the mountains, and the National Museum, which preserves Bhutan’s rich heritage and legends. As evening descends, arrive in Phuentsholing and enjoy a lively stroll through the local market, soaking in the vibrant border-town atmosphere before settling in for an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, we bid farewell to Bhutan’s quiet charm and begin our journey from Phuentsholing to Gangtok, where two beautiful worlds meet. As the road gently descends from Bhutan’s peaceful hills into the lush plains, prayer flags slowly give way to tea gardens and winding rivers. Crossing the border feels less like a goodbye and more like turning a page in the same Himalayan story.
The drive continues through the scenic landscapes of North Bengal, with misty mountains in the distance and flowing rivers keeping us company. As we ascend towards Sikkim, the air turns cooler, the curves sharper, and the views more dramatic—pine forests, cloud-kissed roads, and valleys that seem to pause time itself. By evening, we arrive in Gangtok, where Bhutan’s silence meets Sikkim’s lively mountain spirit. Check in to the hotel and relax, letting the journey settle into memories that already feel special. Wake up to the refreshing Himalayan breeze and enjoy a delicious breakfast before embarking on a full-day sightseeing tour of Gangtok in a private vehicle.
